The Vacancy
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the growth of our M&E service across Amsterdam and beyond. We are expanding our activities in the Netherlands and are looking for a Senior Engineer (mechanical and electrical engineering) to join our team.
The successful engineer will work closely alongside our existing team of consultants and project managers to deliver exceptional M&E service In this position you will provide advice for technical due diligence, development monitoring and M&E project management in the Benelux and possibly other European countries.
Responsibilities
- Act as a key point of contact for MEP instructions within the Amsterdam office for internal and external stakeholders
- Work collaboratively with other Hollis services such as project managers or surveyors to ensure high quality MEP service delivery
- Effectively manage relationships with subcontractors, grow and develop this network in order to maximize the service offering
- Provide technical advice to a range of commercial clients on M&E/building services engineering requirements
- Take the lead on technical due diligence instructions, dilapidation surveys, development monitoring and project management requirements in the Netherlands and Europe
- Contribute to innovation; continuous improvement of services and products
- Pay attention to business development and customer satisfaction
Your profile Experience
- Expected to have at least 4 years work experience in a similar building services engineering environment/consultancy
- Proficient in both written and spoken Dutch and English
- Strong background in operational engineering instructions such as technical due diligence, dilapidations surveys, development monitoring or project management etc.
- Good knowledge of local Dutch and other European regulations, standards and legal requirements
- Excellent reporting and communication skills and a passion for quality
- Commercially minded and the ability to work in a professional manner with clients and colleagues
- The ability to prepare and provide professional advice for the following building-related installations:
- Electrotechnical distribution device
- Air conditioning systems including VRV, VAV, chilled water systems (and knowledge of legacy systems)
- Heating installations, including heat generation, heat transfer and types of heat controllers
- Control and BMS
- Fire alarms, security and access systems
- Elevators (general, non-specialist knowledge
