Associate Building Surveyor
We are excited to announce an opening for an Associate Building Surveyor to join our growing team, based in our Edinburgh office.
The role of an Associate Building Surveyor will involve working within our Building Consultancy team, supporting an array of projects and clients. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated Senior Chartered or Associate level candidate looking to take a step up and make an impact in our newly formed Scotland & NI region.
You'll step in and take on an exciting pipeline of commercial clients and manage an enthusiastic team of junior building surveyors. There's an opportunity to take on a variety of instructions, including taking a lead on the delivery of our rights of light work across the region and the North of England.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivery of multi-skilled building surveying instructions across dilapidations, rights of light, license to alter, tenant alterations, schedules of condition, and project management (with flexibility to pick up a variety as you see fit)
- Take ownership of a healthy pipeline of commercial real estate projects across various sectors like offices, retail and industrial
- Provide professional advice on property and construction, which includes acquisition and disposal
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring effective communication and client satisfaction.
- Mentor and line manage junior surveyors
Required Experience, Qualification & Skills
- MRICS
- Experienced with the delivery of multi-skilled building surveying instructions
- Experience within the commercial industrial, office and retail sectors (others also beneficial)
- Strong report-writing skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent client-facing and interpersonal skills
- Commercial awareness and the ability to provide strategic advice.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
